I have an early 90's Nissan 70hp 2 stroke outboard (NS-70A), after turning and pushing the key in to choke it, it does start no problem and idles without issue but when I shift into forward gear if I was to just go wide open for a whole shot it immediately dies so then I'll try and inch the throttle stick forward little by little and with ever inch forward the motor sounds like it bogs down more and more until the same end result of stalling out now after like 20 attempts at getting going I do get lucky and the motor instead of stalling out it has that feeling like its gonna die but out of no where it does like it should and pick up more and more speed and as I trim it up and down I get on plane and as long as I don't back of the throttle it will continue to blast away ...... Also throughout all this happening it will continue to restart but eventually It seems to flood so then I wait a bit and start this process again.... I thought maybe an air in the line issue so I've replaced the fuel line and primer ball and just ordered a new fuel pump, fuel filter and all new fittings for both the tank end and motor side of the fuel system to see if that helps but just wondering what your opinion was?
Oh I did make sure the vent on the gas tank is open during operation, the first time out it wasn't opened but has been the 3 times since and no change!

Welcome to Iboats,

Check butterfly solenoid is well alligned and works freely in-out when finger actuated, Check that all carb butterflies closes and opens with no restriction whatsoever when actuated and released by solenoid by hand, probably one could be locked when OB is electrically started. Put a small droplet of hidraulic oil on each carb butterfly shaft for a proper smooth shaft operation. If this is the case, adjust idle screw to achieve a good idle speed when at neutral, OB should not die when shifting forward, adjust as required. If this is not the problem, when changing all new ordered parts doesn't get better, could have an electrical related failure.

Happy Boating
