Hi Pest

Did you check if the spring and rubber sleeve was in place on the thermostat. If they arnt, thermostat will not clouse water off. The temperature should be around 50 degree celsius, you can actually hold your hand on top op powerhead, even after WOT run.

The thermostat on this motor has a rubber washer underneath & is held in place by the housing gasket and housing.I am going to the lake this weekend so will see how it goes and report back
Thanks Pest

Did you service the pressure relief valve? If you did, be sure all the pieces are installed. If this baby is allowing bypass all the time........>cool engine.

just a thought..... :)
