70 h.p merc, to gap or not to gap?

I just bought 3 ngk plugs from the local boat dealer, when I asked if they were pre gapped he said they were close enough and to just thow them in. Is this true or should I find the specs and gap them?

It does not take much to check the gap so you might as well. I am not sure about your 70 but my 90 used surface gap plugs that were not adjustable.
