So it's been unusually warm here the last few days, and today after church the Admiral and I decided to take the SS to the lake to enjoy what is probably the last warm day we will have before spring. Now the lakes around here don't freeze over like in other parts, but when it's below 50 the Admiral isn't interested in riding up and down the lake or in tagging along while I fish. So with the weather being so nice we thought some time on the water would be a good idea. Here are a few pics of our afternoon out.

Here is a pic of the windshield area blocked off to cut down on the cool air hitting my beautiful bride.

Keeping the Admiral happy is what it's all about when were on the water together.

Here are some more pics.

She snapped this pic as we were headed down the lake.

A pic of my HOT Admiral.

Some more of the lake. It was really calm out there for most of the afternoon.

Here is a selfie she tried to take underway.

It's been two seasons on the lake since I redid the transom and she still looks great on the water.

One last pic of us before we headed home.

Here she is back at home and all bundled up. This is the nice thing about an outboard. You winterize by parking her with the engine down. I really like that.

I have a couple of videos, but I have no idea how to upload them. I may try to put them up this evening or tomorrow.

Hope you all had a great weekend, and have a great start to the work week.

Awesome, nice to see you taking advantage of fair weather.

You can load the videos to photobucket and then post them here. It will show up as a pic that has to be clicked to show the video.

Thanks 64. Let's see if this works.

In the first video the camera was still in selfie mode.

And one more once we got the camera figured out. It's a little long. I was trying to film the lake and got a little carried away.:D

Thanks for posting and the ride along. As Swoosh said we should give you some fuel money for that, but then again that Chrysler is so efficient it probably makes its own fuel ;)
Great photos of it resting on the shore......Sweeeeeet!

We really enjoyed ourselves, and the lake was pretty empty due to most years it's in the 30's or 40's for normal temps around this time. There were a few sail boats, kayakers, and fishing boats out and about, but with the picnic areas closed for the season the rest of the lake was empty. I'm sure people who have already winterized for the season would have come out if this weather were going to continue, but the temps will be back to normal by Wednesday with the highs in the 40's and the lows at night in the 20's and 30's.

Anyway it was a great time to enjoy the lake with the Admiral.:encouragement:

Oh and the dorm fridge is a little hard on gas, but when the 75hp is pushing us along at 32mph you kind of forget that it's draining the tank. During the summer we usually used up one 6 gallon tank, and would have used about a gallon or so out of the other one. We use the SS for fishing and cruising not for tubing or skiing so it's bad fuel economy isn't something we really notice.
