7 inches of rain {update 11 inches)

Just went down to the park and the rain gauge they use reads 11 inches. Went from near drought conditions to flood stage in a matter of hours. Had 11 inches of rain yesterday. Went to a wedding (outside in a pavilion of course) the creeks were over the banks on the way there. On the way home roads were closed everywhere. The perkiomen was over the bridges and so was the unami. Had to do some fancy detours to get home, only to find that the small creek on our road was now a raging river three feet deep across the road. We had to go around and come in the other way. Saw plenty of folks everywhere that tried to cross the water in their cars and get swamped, ruining the cars and putting their lives in jeopardy. Some people just dont think.

Wow!!<br />That is a LOT of rain in a short time!<br />Hope all works out well. Some people just don't understand the power of water. <br />My wife used to see it all the time back in Indiana. People would drive around the road closed sign, the danger signs and into the water, only to get washed away and call for help. These people should pay triple the usual charges for ambulance, rescue, etc. Insurance should pay NONE of it! <br /><br /><br />AK Chappy
