6hp Johnson rich/lean knob

Have a 79 6hp Johnson. I'ts got a mixture knob on the front of the cowl. Not sure if it's for adjusting idle speed for trolling. Any info would be appreciated.

The knob is for finetuning the mixure on idle, not for rised engine speed.<br /><br /><br />------------------

Just doesn't make sense having the adjustment any where but on the carb. Too easy for guys like me to screw up.

ODDD1..I just thought there was a good reason for it. You know if it's a knob, switch, or a button, a guy just has to mess with it. Personally, I just can't leave well enough alone.
