6hp Johnson - No spark

Model J6RCDE 1980's??<br />I was given this Johnson after it took a dip in the lake. I was told that if I could get it started I could use it. Engine was dried off and the spark plugs removed. I have tried new plugs and WD-40 to start it, but no luck.plug smelled like gas. I did not see any spark from the plug. I played around with the kill switch with no luck. any other ideas??<br />THanks in advance.<br />PS. THis forum has been a lifesaver for me many times. Keep up the great work.

That's an '86, Scott.<br /><br />Go to FAQ and do "Outboard wont start".<br /><br />Why in the world did you post your question in I/Os and Inboards?<br /><br />Moving to JohnnyRude Troubles.
