I am having a problem starting my inherited 1969 Searay SRV 185. It has a 120 hp I/o with a Mercruiser stern drive type 1. The carburetor is a Rochester Jet 2 with no primer bulb. The control is a Mercontrol and has 2 levers. I am not sure of the proper starting sequence. The outside lever is the cold starting lever and is set to the 11 O?clock position. The motor turns over good, just does not start very well. New plugs/points and am getting good gas flow. If I push down on the throttle a couple of times, it is hit or miss on the starting, either cold or hot. Any help would be great.
