I have a 69 mercruiser 120 with a pre alpha drive. Runs great on muffs but the upper unit gets very hot to the touch after 10 minutes of idle. Also the water coming out is very hot. Just replaced the gimbal ring and all bellows. Lower unit is full of fluid. What would cause the upper unit to get that hot? Impeller?? Do I need to get it in the water?
