68 rude 9.5 twist grip install?

Over the winter I was given a 68 Evinrude 9.5 that I got from running a "wanted Ad in a local paper" The carb was taken apart and the linkage for the twist grip throttle was disconnected.<br />After going though it I fixed all the problems with the magneto and coils points etc.<br />My problem is hooking the linkage back up to the mag plate. I can't seem to be able to get it right. I have a Solec manual that came with another 58 Rude 35 horse motor but it doesn't have the info I need.<br />Any help would be greatly appreciated.

u have a motor that very hard to explain how the linkage works because it does quiet a few things. i would say u need a factory manual for the motor so u can see what does where and how to adjust it all the right way. i picked mine up on ebay very cheap and has been a great deal of help.

TRhanks for the reply. being the impatient person that I am I fingered it out all by myself. I put the motor in a barrel and low and behold it started on the second pull. Now all I have to do is synchronize it and maybe change the low speed needle and I should be ready for a test run on thew back of my newly aquired Thomson 14 foot runabout.
