After several troubled filled boating seasons with my old OMC I/O in my old runabout, I finally have a good dependable little outboard that has been trouble free for two boating seasons now. Its a '68 Evinrude Triumph 55 with the not so popular electric shift. My uncle rebuilt it and put a new amplifier on it and its run like a swiss watch ever since.

This one originally spent its first 30 or so years on the back of a pontoon. Now its on the back of my Lund VFR.

Nice! Lots of low end grunt from those old beasts. How bad is it on the gas? I've heard they're awfully hungry little monsters.

THat's a nice looking engine. I personally really like the electric shift when the lower unit seals are good and the connections are clean. It shifts so nice the clutch dog is usually in good shape and lasts a long time.
I like the cowl on that motor. Nothing like a smooth running OMC! :)
