Years ago I had a starter rebuilt.They put the end plate(where brushes are) on 180 degrees out<br /> of position.I changed it back and it worked fine.<br /> Maybe that is your problem.

Hi, Franko.<br /><br />Starter motors are series wound. The only way to reverse them is to reverse the relationship between field and armature.<br /><br />What Steelspike describes is exactly that.<br /><br />Take the end plate (with the brushes, etc. attached)off and reverse it. That should get your starter working right again.<br /><br />Good luck.
