I have a 67 merc with thunderbolt ignition and need to no what condersor is used to replace the one on the side of the power head that has to wires coming out of it.one goes to block and the other connects to switch box/distributor wire(it's black plastic).the motor is running but the long wire out of condensor has brittle and cracking insulation. If it's not a condensor ?what is it?
Also are the champion L76V the right sparkplugs for this motor

Thanks Jim

That's most likely your mercury switch designed to shut the motor off if the motor is tilted up to high while the motor is running. Like you hit something in the water and your motor pops out of the water.
