Is it alright to use a muff on this motor and if so which hole am I covering? (I know it's the stupid question of the day) Just don't want to damage the motor. My guess is its the larger hole in the upper part of the lower unit on the left side.

Hi Fajsam
The 1967 60 was fitted with two differnt l/u's. Both pick up water from the front of the skeg, behind the propeller. You would have to have a speical device for flushing or a tank (garbage can). Reg muffs won't work. This assumes you do in fact have a 1967 60 hp.

Thanks ALCAN for the info. Is the special device you mentioned available in a local boating store?

I guess I can check the next time I go. Thanks

I'll take a chance and say yes. I think I've seen them at West Marine stores. They seem to be good at having things, until you really need it.
