Hook up an induction timing light to the plug wire(s) next time you have it running. It sounds like one cylinder isn't firing as consistantly as the other. With a 45 year old motor, bad coils and plug wires are a common problem. I'd also suggest doing a compression test to see if the cylinders are close to being equal.

Yes, it'll stay running. It's getting fuel from the low speed circuit.

OK guys i ran the motor and then did a compression test and after a few pulls because my battery is shot i was getting right around 100 psi in each cylinder and i am getting good spark on one spark plug and a weak one in the other one, that baffles me because i replaced my coil pack and points and condensers and spent like 2 hrs making sure they were gaped at the right gap

Hello again Scully. Don't worry about the olil for now. That's normal and worse than usual because you're probably only running on once cylinder. Sounds like you've definitely got a spark issue. Probably just some little wire that's wiggling loose. Even though it's a bit of a pain, pull the flywheel one mroe time and give the ignition the once over using the link below. It helps if you do all of one side, then the other. It's good that you've go new points and condensers, but check your spark plug wires too. Make sure they are firmly twisted onto the coil posts and not simply jammed on there. You may need to snip about 1/2-1" of old wire off the coil end to expose some fresh copper. Better still, get some 7mm copper core spark plug wire and just replace the old ones all together. I've had luck geting it at NAPA and Carquest, but you may have to look around a bit. Follow this link and holler if you get stuck. It's for a different model, but all of the steps are the same. Hang in there you're almost there. Only three things needed to get these old gems running; compression, fuel and spark.

You may want to clean the points with some very fine sand paper and then clean them with acetone. New points sometimes have a coating on them.

+1. Also, just wanted to make sure you got copper core spark plug wires too. Modern, graphite automotive wires will not work.
