hello again, more questions for the iboat experts! I'm wondering if my 1980 90hp mercury 6cyl will be able to use the mounting brackets from my 1976 merc. 650? From what I can tell, the brackets are spaced the same distance apart, and the swivel brackets are virtually identical in width. Also, the tilt tube appears to be the same diameter, so couldn't I just remove the tube, remove the 65, and plop the 90 right in?
I have another thread concerning some similar questions, I didnt know if adding to it would have been better then making a new one, so I apologize if I should have. Any help would be great! Also, how vital is it that the anti cav. plate be perfectly lined up with the bottom of the hull? is 1/2" up or down going to kill me or my new powerplant? Thanks all!
