650 Mercury Identification help

I have a 650 Mercury engine, I believe it is a 1965, can any one help verify. There is no number plate on the motor. I did find this stamped on the block PANTHER 834-2456, the engine is a 4 cylinder, it doesn't have the red stripe on cover, the engine is black. Looks like a 1965 from the other I have seen on line. Any help would be great.
