I have a 3 cylinder, 2 cycle 650 merc outboard. Does it have an alternator. Is it charging my battery while running?

it should be charging your battery, but you have to determine if it is working by measuring the voltage across the battery while running. It should have 13volts or higher and climb over time to 15-16-17V.....
