I have a 65 merc model 110 9.8 hp, it is overheating within a few minutes. It does not have
any water coming out the tell tale. The motor had been sitting for a few years before I got it.
After reading serveral of the posting on this site, it looks like I should replace the impeller first.
How hard is it to replace myself?? Do you have to have any special tools to replace the impeller
or if it comes down to replacing the water pump??

I do not have any prior experience working on outboards, I do have some experience working
on cars. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!
Mike

easy to replace water pump impellar. Do yourself a favor, and get a manual. You'll have much less stress! :) see manuals below...

easy to do, yes get the manual, make sure the water pipes line up when you put it back together
