My coils are almost touching the condensers in the magneto, is this a problem? Can the spark like jump though that gap or something? Super dumb question I know

Not possible if you are using the correct parts.-----And no the spark is not going to jump across that gap.

Racer, how do you know ? You haven't seen the mag plate.

largemouth, it this what you mean by almost touching? Perfectly normal, and not to worry about any spark jumping.

design intent…it could never jump across since the least resistive path for a bad coil would direct to ground via the mounting screws :)

The coil is bolted to the magplate.-----The condenser is mounted on the magplate.-----The 2 parts are touching each other electricaly.------Perhaps a review of how this simple magneto works is needed !
