62 18hp rude

My starter rope is showing signs of wear. Can anyone lead me to step by step instructions on how to replace this so I don't get stranded w/ no way to start my motor?

take the recoil starter off. pull all of the rope out, secure the spring so it doesn't coil back up. Cut the rope at the anchor ( or knot) if you plan to replace it. Pull rope out. Remove anchor from rope handle and take rope out. Cut a piece of starter rope of the same length plus 4 inches to tie the knot for your anchor. Feed rope through starter apparatus, through the port on the starter wheel. Anchor it in place. Re-attach the rope handle anchor and assemble it back as you took it apart.
