I got into the wire harness today. It definitly needs to be replaced. The insulation is all dryrotted & crumbling. There is no plug at the motor, its hard wired. Should I search for a replacement or just rewire it and wrap the wires? Are there suppliers that carry a ready made harness? Thanks for any help........

Re: '61 75 wire harness......

I ran into the same thing on my motor. For mine(1977), the wiring harness was still available, but costly. I chose to buy the wire and do it myself. It actually went quickly and ended up working quite well. Just one wire at a time.

Get some shrink-tubing for the connections. Also get a wiring diagram. Some here will have issues, but I soldered all connections/splices except for terminal ends. I crimped those.
