...Can't find one anywhere online in my serial # range, including oem stuff on ebay. Serial number is 233XXX. Can I use a kit for a newer outdrive? There's still lots of pre-alphas around...I'm sure they need bellows from time to time! Thanks for all replies.

Re: 60s Mercruiser Transom Seal Kit

Thanks for the reply Don.
Full serial number is 2330944
Year is 1968
Drive is MC1 (120)
Engine is 120hp 2.5L I4

I can find kits such as this but what worries me is that it states "Aftermarket kit fits most Mercruiser gen 1 housings from 1973-1990."

I guess what I'm asking is will a kit such as this work? What have others used on their 60s vintage mercs?

I have no hard info re exact ser nos etc but I did own a 1969-1970 vintage 140/mc1 and it all seemed the same in the boot area as I recollect. Most if not all the stuff should fit.You should be able to narrow this down by getting part nos from Merc for the stuff you needfor your unit and for a later unit and comparing part nos.

Ayuh,... According to my Sierra catalog, the Kit's are for the #1s, up through the Alpha 1s, uses the bellows 18-2751....
That's for the housings, With the ridge...
Your's takes the bellows 18-2752, for housings Without the ridge.... Serial # 3443920, 'n Below...

This stuff should be available right here at iboats megamall....
