I have a 1985, 60HP Mariner and a 1990, 60HP Mariner. I have a service manual for the 1985 but not for the 1990 model.
Could someone tell me if there is any major difference in the 2 motors? They appear to be the same. Thanks beforehand
for your help!

I would think that in not there would only be subtle differences. The big change came when they went from the old cross flow block design to the 3 cyl loop charged engine. I don't know what year that happened but if both engines are triples, then they both have the new technology. Considering all the things considered including costs in introducing a new design, it is usually the case that they leave well enough alone and spend their money on other models upgrading them like they did on the larger 6 cyl engines at the end of the 1980s. A few minutes looking at the manual and your '90 should tell you right off.
