I have a 1988 60hp johnson on a bass boat, when i put it in gear the motor bogs down and stalls right away. i found water in the tank and pumped it out, may not have gotten it all though, anything else that i should be looking at???
You probably need to pull the carbs and clean them good. Might want to go ahead and put a rebuild kit in them while you are at it. Put an inline water separator on it so you can see next time before the probelm gets there. You may also be able to pull your plugs, undo the gas line and crank the engine to clear most of it.
