Try switching coils and coil wire to see if you can get the condition to move to a known good cylinder. Example switch coil/wire on #1 cylinder to #3 cylinder. Also check compression in the problem cylinder.

60hp '91 Mercury

My 60hp '91 Mercury 3cyl keeps fouling the top spark plug. I have changed the switchbox, rebuilt the carbs and checked the fuel mix, all without solving the problem. My mechanic thinks the timing is set too high. Anyone have any idea what could be the problem?<br />Thanks,<br />Ed
