Hello, I plan on ordering a new carb along with a new 4 barrel Edelbrock intake. What carb do you guys recommend for recreational driving; fuel economy, power, ease of adjustment, and reliability?

What are you going to put it on and where do you use it?

You will not find a satisfactory answer to your Holley vs Edelbrock question. No doubt, Edelbrocks are cheaper but I prefer the Holley.

If you boat in freshwater only, the Edelbrock Performer intake will work well. It is a real no-no for salt water use unless you have a closed cooling system. Just do not use the Edelbrock RPM Performer intake, it has too high of an rpm range for marine motors.

Corrosion, the alu. in the man.does NOT like salt water!! also as far as the card choice goes pick the edelbrock it is far more tuneable for mid range jetting for performanc and economy. I have worked on race cars and street cars for years. The edelbrock is an updated version of the AFB very tuneable from the top with no fuel loss or chance of leakage (one piece fuel bowl) the holly is great for wide open throttle but has 2 fuel bowls / gaskets to leak /Big bang in a boat  and has idle and w o t jetting adj.only:( If you need fine tuning help with the edel. get in touch but it should be very close out of the box!! Boat safe make smiles B.C.
