Re: 60 merc idle problems

Hi

I think the faulty carb is either running lean or flooding now, it has to be corrected. Check floater hight on all 3 and adjust to correct level. Ist very important! Flooding as you had, doesnt just mean incorrect floater hight, it can be crud stuck in floater valve too. Check spark plugs right after running 3/4 or more speed continously. Same colour ?

huttbassin!
Welcome to the board. You had said that there is fuel coming from the carbs after you have checked them troughly. That tells me you have bad reeds. Reeds will also efect the way your motor runs and idles. If and when you pull the carbs back out inspect the reeds. If the reeds are bad this is going to call for a tear down of the motor. Now I have seen reeds that look good from looking in the intake but after taking and doing a complete tear town found they were bad.

GOOD LUCK!
NICK
