From the pontoon thread I have decided to upgrade to a 90hp from 60hp yamaha. I have a 20' G3 with a 2005 2 stroke 60 hp Yamaha. I have found a 1992 16' Boston Whaler with a 2007 2 stroke 90hp Yamaha. Motors pretty much look and weight the same. My question is .... Will the motor end hookups (electrical, cable, throttle) be the same? Take the 60 off and put the 90 on with simple hookup? It can't be that easy can it? I've not looked at the Boston Whaler yet ... looks really clean. Thanks

I know both the Honda's and OMC's are like that (direct plug and play), so it would be no surprise here if the Yammi's were the same.

Boston Whaler should be a pretty easy sale with the 60 Yamaha. Maybe a free upgrade for you. Nicely done!

Thats what I was thinking. To buy a used Yammy 90 is easily 4 to 5 grand. The Boston Whaler is $6000. Swap them out and I may have at max spent a grand! Thanks
