Sounds like a circulation problem to me. Is the engine run in salt water? Maybe the water jacket passages in the heads are clogged. You would have to remove the waterjacket covers to get to the passages to clean them out. Hope this helps

Hello in there.

very hot day, still hot night here in N.E.

Please keep the YELLING down to a DULL roar.

You need to ascertain the actual temperture of the engine.Carb work, decarb, plugs, prop ... probably had no effect on the problem.

I'd get an accrurate way to actually measure the temp. This will help you find the problem.I have a digital pyrometer as well as a infrared gun.The gun was $50.00 on sale at Sears.Your Johnson Dealer can also sell you a wax pencil that melts at 163 degrees..about $15.oo,and will last you forever, but will only tell you it is hotter than 163. (or colder if it won't melt)

Also if you rewrite your last two sentences of your first post, maybe something else will come to my feeble (TONITE) mind.Guess I do it too.Have fun here, most of us do.
