60 hp merc 2str 2005 bogs down????help

Hey...

Got a 60 hp merc oil inj. that has been doing the following all summer. 5 times into the dealer and they still can't figure it. Please help if you can. My whole fishing season was ruined because of this.

Turn key and motor spits through the carbs unevenly. Warm up and this changes from spitting 1-2 a second to every 10 secs or not at all. Run motor at or near 5000 rpms approx 35 mph, for about 20-30 min. and WHAM! brrr... br... blaaaaagghhhhhhhh... Down to 800 rpms and purring/bogging/muffled running with intermittent spitting. Tough to get back to the dock! But hasnt stalled.

Can replicate this effect over and over. Do not need to run at these RPMS to do so. I have been out trolling for 2hrs and the same effect was achieved. Always the same effect though. Every trip. Water pumps fine. Compression perfect. Techs have checked the fuel pump. The lines for vaccuum leaks. (One of the vacuum lines was all melty, but they replaced that) Fuel samples. They claim they checked it all!!!

Have they checked the ignition system? It sounds like you have a coil breaking down when things get warm. If I took a car to a mechanic 5 times and he couldn't figure it out, I would have to queston the abilities of the mechanic.

When the motor bogs down, does the primer bulb remain firm or is it soft?

Do you have an inboard tank?
if so, make sure that no blockages occur in the vent hose from fuel as it splashes around the tank.

other than that, have a different mechanic look at the electrical system.

Yes the bulb stays hard and they claim that the whole fuel sys. was checked. The elec. was MY guess. But they are pretty clueless where I am keeping it.
