I just purchased a 1997 mercury bigfoot that has never been used and i am trying to determine were the battery cables hook onto the motor at? I was also wondering if there is a good place to access online manuals for the motor?

Don't the battery cables come connected from the factory?

thanks for attempting to help however the link does not work!
also i bought the motor from a guy to put on my boat however it was on a show room boat and he took it off and stored it away until now so it may have been attached at the factory but not now

miyates;

As you don't provide the s/n and presuming that your engine is a two stroke, here is the manual:

http://1manual.com/Mercury manuals/Service Manual PDFs/TwoStroke/817643r1/cover.pdf

You must have Adobe Acrobat reader installed to use this manual. If you scroll down to the lower part of the opening page, you will see the various engine components in red. Click on the one you want and when the first page opens, click on the "Save As" icon at the top LH corner of the page and you can save it to your computer.

Let me know if you have a four stroke instead of two stroke or just the s/n.
