60 evinrude throttle will not go back to idle

Hi guys I have a 1993 60 evinrude. Just recently rebuilt the carbs, put them back on and now when I advance the throttle and bring it back to neutral the little rubber roller on the middle carb does not come all the way back to where it starts. I can move it back by hand and then all all is well until I advance the throttle again. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide. If pictures are needed I can take some when I get home

Sounds like the throttle cable is out of adjustment.

or the return spring was not put back

jake I did not take any springs off when I removed the carbs. Are you referring to the ones on the side of the carbs?

I was talking about the throttle cable that comes from the control.
