60 evinrude tech tip ??

just found out from my tec about 89-96 motor have cooling hose coming from bottom exhaust side cause overheating.tech update say to drill new hole 2'' down and 1 3/8 across and drill 11/32 hole NO MORE THAN 1/2'' DEEP and tap1/8 pipe thread and install elbow at top. brass plug bottom
can anybody verifie

Yes. There was a service bullitin regarding moving the telltale to the top along with a new 6 flute impeller and removing the restrictor from the telltale where it goes through the pan...

If you order the recommended factory water pump kit, you also get the fittings for the water telltale outlet change.

Ask your dealer for a copy of the service bulletin. There were several about overheating back in those years and a bit later.

As I recall, it applied to all three cylinder loopers.

Read the bulletin first.!989 thru 1996 is a large area of three cylinder motors.

I remember performing the update on our 1995-70.
