Here is 60 in a 14 foot flat bottom with a bone stock 125. 55 with a 90. I think you have seen it before.

Not to steal your thunder, but I think that 140 OMC should be tickling 65. I suspect that with a little thought and work you will see it. Mind you, 60 itself is an accomplishment, but I just think that engine has more in it.

Is a low water pick-up, nose cone, and jack-plate in the future plans?

You're not stealing any of my thunder Frank. This was the first time running that prop. Had about 9 gals of fuel, half full cooler, anchor & gear/tool bag onboard. Next time'll be better.

SRX seems to lift the transom more than the Lightspeed so's I'm dealing with a lil trim learning curve too. Stay tuned.

Yo Chris motor is stock '83 140 Johnson. Was fresh water run 'til recently but I'm fixing that ... Prop is 13 3/4 x 24 OMC SRX Chopper. Motor in top hole.

edit. Yes nose cone'n low water pickup are planned. But as of now I haven't had an overheating prob?

NOW you are getting close! Didn't I say that I would have expected 65?

Ahhhh! You need to put that 140 on your V153. I have a GT 150 that, if I ever get it restored, is slated for a 140. It is in poor condition and I paid too much for it--1000 for boat, engine, and trailer--but I really wanted it.

Fwiw a V153 will smoke a GT 150 with comparable HP. The Baja happened 'by accident'. My 153 was in a lil fender bender last March. But the pain & her memory live on ...
