My 1967 6 hp as a very loose throttle and if you take your hand off it will go past the position where it should idle and then die. Removed the handle and they is no spring, friction collar nothing etc Are these cheap to buy and ship to the uk.? Motor as no stat in which I have ordered and the motor was hot to touch. Checked and ordered impellor but it was fine, removed exhaust cover and back flushed the water ways and poked the two holes I saw just in case. Filled tub with clean water and started her up Ore powerful spray and it was cold whereas before it was hot.....I can now rest my hand on the engine when it's running......

Go to the Antique Outboard Motor Club website, www.aomci.org and post a free want ad on their Webvertize pages. There probably are hundreds of those parts laying around in our stash. Somebody will mail you what you need at a reasonable cost, postage being the biggest item.

BTW, I see eight UK aomci members in the directory.
