Wasn't sure were to post this. I have a couple old Johnson 6 gal.portable fuel tanks. Is there a kit I can get to hook these up to a fuel gage. Or do they make ones that can? Hate running out of fuel before switch over.

The newer tanks have a guage and its fairly useless.
I keep a very close watch on it.

The best fuel guage is your wrist.

But I don't like running out and it can be dangerous if you have bad timing--in a channel, at a dock, in an inlet or near a dam or other hazard. So I check them before I start a leg of the trip that might encounter such, or a long stretch on a plane at a good speed; the sudden slow down can jolt a passenger or cargo (and thus the rule against people sitting on the gunwales or worse, hanging their legs over the bow).

Just get in the habit of checking fuel before getting into one of those hazardous places. Like mentioned, just feel the tank...the gauges are pretty useless!
