I’ve a ‘01 Searay with a 6.2L with s/n 0M065176.
I’m chasing an intermittent problem while running where engine just shuts off, but immediately restarts and runs fine the rest of the day. It’s happened last season a few times.
My fuel rail pressure is about 12 psi. What is the value for this model engine? It looks like the old TBI from the mid 90’s.
Thx.

Looks like your fuel pressure should be a right around 30 psi according to your fuel pressure, regulator part number, item number, 15, https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/subassembly/31953/5725/80

Your engine should be more of a multi port injection versus throttlebody injection type.

Do you by chance have any warning horns going off too? As it looks like your engine has the fuel pressure sensor option that could sound a warning horn when it gets really low which would be mounted on the fuel rail as well.

Hi. Didn’t know there was a tbi one of these. Usually a efi 6.2 would be from the 2000’s onwards and mpi. Unless it’s been a built thing.
When you say it just stops. You mean it starts struggling and stops…like a fuel issue ? Or it cuts out dead and instantly? Like an ignition or electric issue

No warning horns, just shuts off like electrical issue.

Work on getting the fuel pressure up. Try disconnecting the vacuum line at the fuel regulator with the engine running and see if the pressure moves up almost 5 psi.

Sometimes low fuel pressure can make the engine shut off making it seem like the key was turned off at speed.
