5hp gamefisher problem

hey i got a 5hp from a pawn shop and i got it home i started it in a bucket and put it in gear in the bucket and it ran like a champ i put it on my scanoe in the water i start it it idles good then i put it in gear it goes like 3ft the dies no matter how much gas where the choke is nothing just dies then i can restart but same thing happens. <br />help its been in garage long enuf!!!
