5Hp 2 stroke prop shaft removal??

Hello all,

I have a 5 hp Nissan 2 stroke with an oil leak at the prop shaft. Can the prop shaft/housing be removed by itself, without having to dismount the entire gear case? Please advise. Thanks in advance for the help.

In our shop, if we need to change one LU seal (unless damaged by fishing line, etc.), we change them all (driveshaft seal and various o-rings) since the cost of seals is so small compared with the labor to get everything apart. While at it, we would normally drop the LU and do the water pump as well.

Just prudent.
