So I’m converting this model to a single fuel line to eliminate the need for a pressure tank. After watching a few how to vids I think I’ve got it rigged up with a Briggs and Stratton pump, removing the small reed valves and plugging up the right side of the manifold. Any input into start up procedures; this was a complete overhaul aside from breaking the crankcase. I’m assuming that the small glass fuel filter should be just before the carb inlet as well…cheers.

After getting it all back together it fired up, however, it’ll only run with choke on. Could this mean it’s sucking air in somewhere? I did reuse the existing manifold gaskets as they did seemed ok to me-should I have used a bit of gasket adhesive on those? Also the low speed dial seems to have little/no effect either..

It could be the case. You could spray a starting fluid or carb cleaner around the gaskets that you reused and listen if there is an RPM change. Then you know there is a leak
