58' Evinrude Fastwin crankshaft end play

Hi folks!

Anyone knowes what the endplay should be on my fastwin?
Yesterday I found out that I can lift up the crankassembly abouty 1/8" Is this ok??????
I have looked in the partlist and can't find any parts that serves as shims.
It seems that only the spring outside of bottom crankcase sort of keeps the crank down.
