Hey! I'm looking for a source to get new hoses for my '57 (Gale) Sea King 5 horse motor before the ethanol completely turns them to jello. I only need about 8 inches of each of the two sizes so a "by the foot" type price is what I'm looking for. Also, what would those hose sizes actually be? By the way, I just got this thing about 2 weeks ago. Man, what a sweet running little motor!

Thanks,
AJE

I get mine from my local dealer. I use 5/32" ID because they always have it on hand. I think the fittings are 3/16" ID. You can probably use anything from 5/32 to 1/4"? I'd take a piece of your hose into them just to make sure you get the right size.

I'll give that a try. 5/32" sounds about right. Wow! That Johnson looks really nice! Do it all yourself?

Re: '57 Sea King fuel line replacement

I just buy mine at the auto parts store.

Right on. All automotive hose is alcohol-proof these days. You may find that they have two grades, for fuel-injected or non-injected cars. You don't need the fuel-injected stuff for your little outboard.
The sizes are 3/16 and 5/16. I find that 1/4 actually works better for the larger one.
