FD-11 & FD-12, hoping to use the '57 as a parts engine.

Are there any differences I should be aware of ? I need to swap the swivel-brackets and motor-mounts, I had hopes of using the carb too, but upon closer inspection someone jammed the SS needle and caved the housing in :(.

At least the majority of parts will be the same. The swivel bracket might be one of the possible differences. No way to tell about a specific part without looking at the parts lists. Or simple visual comparison.

Thanks F_R,

I've got both motors disassembled now, just gotta clean them up and compare as I go.

I will post my findings

Thanks for the replies everyone, it turns out kfa is right. Pretty much exactly the same, aside from the kill switch is absent on the '57 and the rubber surround on the belly-pan is mounted with a retaining clip as well on the '57.

Do yourself a favor!
When re-attaching the motor mount at the front / top of the powerhead and the steering bracket, attach the MOTOR side first then mount it to the bracket. Once everything is lined up again, use a 9/16th wrench and install the steering bracket side nut and washer from underneath between the swivel and the exhaust leg. Sound funny? You'll see what I mean if you do the job ;).
