56' JW12 3 hp fuel jet knobs moving

I have a 1956 JW-12 3 hp that runs beautiful and i only have one issue with it. The fuel jet knobs are slowly turning themselves in.

What may be the issue?

Look at where the knobs/needles enter into the carburetor. You will see a brass hex nut on each one. Those are called packing nuts. Give them a tweak (tighten them a bit) till the needles are tight enough to stay where you put them. If that doesn't work, the packings behind the nuts are shot and will have to be replaced.

I did try tightening that packing nut, looks like I'll have to replace it.

You don't need to replace the nut, just the packing washers behind it.
