My '56 Johnson 5.5hp has both speed valves (low and high) deformed at the cone due to overtightening. I'd like to replace if possible but havent't found a supplier who has these, only things I find carb related are seats and needles and the packing rings. Are there replacements available?

Hello.
If I understand you right, the deformed "speed valves", are in fact the adjustable needle valves that sit in the carburator housing.
If this is what you are looking for,go to:
www.tcoutboard.com
They specialize in that sort of stuff.
Good luck.
