55 HP Nissan

What years were the white and blue 55 HP nissian motors manufactured. Are these good motors. Any comments appreciated.

There have never been any white and blue Nissans. The last year the 55 was sold was 89.

I have a white cowling and blue motor that is a 55 hp nissan. Paint is original as it came from factory. thanks, chodie

Not possible....When they came into the country in 1984 they had a silver cowling. The silver may have faded a little, but silver it remains.

O.K. you are right it probably is silver cowling. Now that is over, the next question is "Are these good engines to own"? I recently purchase mine and it runs great. Original owner said it had very few hours. What can I expect as for as being dependable? thanks, chodie

It's a discontinued design. Great engine 20 years ago, but today it's a curiosity, not an engine to actually use.
