I have removed the gas tank in a 1987 Starcraft Islander 221 with a 2.5 L OMC. The tank is 51 gallons. This seems extremely large for this boat or is it really going to suck gas. I will use the boat for great lakes fishing trips. 10 to 15 mile runs and 4-6 hours of trolling. How much gas does your aluminum fishing boat use.

I have 154 gallon capacity on my 22' boat.

Average 1.9 mpg on calm water on Flow scan. I've seen the number drop below 1 mpg if it's get rough.

Inshore, I use 25-30 gallons in 8 hours on the troll if I stay local. Will go through a full tank during a 2 day tournament

Don't forget the the boat was built to handle larger and thirstier motors than your 2.5. I think even a V8 was available.

Just curious Dingbat. What kind of boat and power are you running. I am trying to get a close comparison.
