If its't a 500 the A should make it a 1987 but the starting serial number was A912478 and all 50 HP engines were 3 cyl ?

Make that a 1963.It is the A that would kick it into 1985 but then the number is completely off.

1986 Mercury made a 45/50hp 4 cylinder. <br />serial number range:<br />5531630 --- OB110788

So what is the real year? When I looked it up on marinshopen.se it says that it is a 1985. Who knows.... I sure dont...

It's an '85.<br />Date is on Starter and case.<br />Thanks!<br />Just finished frying the harness.<br />Off to get a Manual.<br />Hope it has a good harness diagram.
