So here is my problem. When I turned the key I got nothing. not a click or anything. I had a spare Merc Controller assembly with the throttle and wire harness and I tried that and it started right up. I am wondering what I should be looking for as a problem with the one that is not working. Does the controller unit come apart so I can take a look and do some testing? I am trying to avoid having to install the new one as the throttle and shifter cables look miserable to install as I can't get at them. I have the top part off but do I need to take off another part of the cover to get at it? I am hoping the entire lower unit does not need to come off just to install the cables. I hope this makes sense I am a musician, not a mechanic so if you need more info let me know. Thanks.
